Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact us.

Can I send calls to a cell phone?

Yes you can send calls to any US domestic number.

Can I send calls to international numbers?

Our system cannot send calls to international numbers at this time, however we plan to add this feature in the future.

Will use of this service violate prison rules?

No. The inmate still uses the regular prison phone system and calls are subject to the same monitoring by prison staff as normal calls would be.

Is there any contract associated with my service?

No. All service we provide is contract free and you may cancel at any time.

How is the FedLocal service used at a Federal Prison?

It is easy! After signing up with FedLocal, provide the local number to the federal inmate and have them add it to their contact list on TRULINCS. Once the number is approved in TRULINCS they will call you at this number and TRULNICS will bill the inmate at the local rate of $0.06/minute instead of the long distance rate of $0.21/minute.

How can I cancel my FedLocal number?

Sign in to account management and click the icon next to the number you want to cancel. Service will continue until the end of your current billing period and you will not be charged again. If there are service or pricing issues causing your decision to cancel please contact us, we always try to provide quality, affordable service and appreciate your feedback.

What if my phone number changes and my calls are ringing to the wrong place?

Sign in to your account and update the forwarding target number. The change will take effect immediately.

Will I have to add my FedLocal number to the inmate's account?

Yes, if the prison has a phone list then the inmate will need to add your local number.

Do I have to pay per minute with your service?

No. All of our service is charged a fixed monthly price based on the plan ordered.

What billing methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards and we automatically bill your card once per month a fixed monthly charge.

If I am receiving calls from several inmates at the same complex can they all call the same FedLocal number?

Yes. Please be aware that our plans include 300 minutes per month so it is possible to exceed this limit if the number is receiving calls from several different inmates.

If I do not receive any calls in a given month do I still have to pay for your service?

Yes. However please contact us if this happens because we will credit any charge over $6 for that month back to your account.
